About
Welcome.
Reconnect with who you are and step into the leader you were meant to be.
Are you feeling disconnected from your core self?
Do you long for deeper intimacy in your relationship, a stronger sense of purpose in your individual life, or the confidence to fully embody your professional strengths as a natural leader?
It’s easy to get lost in the noise of daily demands, expectations, and unresolved patterns. My practice is built on a simple, powerful premise: develop daily practices of attunement and alignment with your core self.
I offer a unique, integrated approach that combines the profound self-discovery of psychotherapy with the actionable strategies of professional coaching.
For Individuals & Couples
We'll work together to uncover disempowering narratives that perpetuate habituated behaviors that are no longer serving you and your relationships. The result: more clarity of who you are, what you need and how to get there.
For Natural Leaders
Through powerful, focused coaching, we unlock your innate professional strengths, helping you shed self-doubt and step into your role with confidence, presence, and impactful clarity.
This is more than just therapy or coaching. Let's work together to align your internal world with your external actions, creating an extraordinary life and career. Learn a comprehensive intentional skill set of embodying your active participation in your life.
MFJ Relationship Coaching empowers individuals, couples and professionals to navigate challenges, unlock their full potential, and cultivate extraordinary lives and careers.
My Story
Welcome, I am Michelle Frieswyk-Johnson, Licensed Professional Counselor.
I have been in the field of psychology since I was 18 years old. My first summer job before college, was on the children's unit, at the renowned Menninger Foundation. Coming from a family of psychoanalysts, psychologists, social workers, I have been “marinating” in a world of our shared human experience - being… well, Human. I am also from a large family, roughly the middle child, which allowed me to practice being in relationship with a wide variety of personalities and dynamics. Over the years, my parents often reflected to me, “You naturally took care of others, and others looked to you to lead them.” To this day, I continue to love - and feel humbled by - witnessing others face their pain and choose to live from their innate light.
Formally, I have worked in psychiatric hospitals and day treatment centers (both as a clinician and in program development), done marketing for a psychiatric hospital, served as a hospice aide, worked as a public health therapist, managed a naturopathic college medicinary, developed a coaching business, founded and ran The Louisville Wellness Center, and started my private practice in 2002.
I bring a passion for growth, as well as a depth and breadth of experience that has culminated into an intuitive and direct approach to all my work - psychotherapy and professional coaching alike. I place a high value on the embodiment of growth and transformation, however big or small. If you are ready to become more than what you have lived, I would love to work with you.

Values
Growth & Resilience
I operate from a core belief, that all humans are innately resilient and that we embody a great capacity for growth. As both a psychotherapist and professional coach, I commit to being your active guide in uncovering the areas you “play small” and champion you to live an extraordinary life.
Integrity & Alignment
We each embody our sense of Personal Integrity. I compassionately guide clients to uncover and discover - where they are In alignment and where they are Not. The power of claiming, “how do I want to show up in ALL areas of my life,” is transformative.
Empowered Empathy
I often tell my clients that ALL is welcome. The depth of this statement has its roots in a fundamental belief, that the ignition switch to transformation, begins when we meet each part of Being Human, with compassion in action. This empowered empathy is a spark for growth.
Embodiment
Once we have explored and applied the science of human development: attachment, social/emotional, familial, cognitive/behavioral and others; we will work side by side to embody these concepts. These body/breath practices require ongoing, deep listening to our bodies. I promote this embodied lifestyle with the intention of fostering deep change. If we skip this step, we are limited to just sounding clever.
